What is YMU-Node?YMU-Node as the monitoring point in YMU "Neighborhood Watch" network is the basic element. YMU-Node receives monitor tasks from YMU control center, execute these tasks, and then return the result to YMU data center.

How do I turn my website into an YMU-Node?
Your website becomes an YMU-Node when you website participates in YMU
network. How to participate? Downloads a tiny piece of open-source script and then installs into your web server just like publish a web page; after verified by YMU network, your website or web server becomes an YMU-Node in the YMU network. See demo show by click here.

What is the running environment of the tiny piece of script?-
For the tiny piece of open-source script, we provide popular web programming languages versions like:
- JSP/Jave/J2EE on Linux/Unix (environment: Java 2 SDK 1.4 or higher, Servlet/JSP container which supports JCP's, Servlet 2.3 and JSP 1.2);
- PHP on Windows, Linux/Unix (environment: Apache 2.0,PHP 4.3.9 or higher);
- ASP on Windows (environment: IIS web server (Windows 2000 server, Windows 2003), MSXML 4.0 Service Pack 2 );
- Perl on Linux/Unix;

How about the security after my website becomes YMU-Node?-
Installing our tiny piece of script to your website is very secure. We've invested significant engineering resources to secure our customer's websites, so you don't need to worry about your website security. We guarantee security using the following methods:
- Authorization management ensures YMU-Node only accept monitor tasks from YMU control center. If the request is not routed from YMU control center, YMU-Node will drop it and abort immediately. The authorization prevents malicious hack attack.
- DES algorithm to encrypt/decrypt the key information between YMU-Node and YMU control center; that prevents the interactive information be intercepted by the third party.

How about the resource cost of my server?-
You may ask the question, " What resource will your script take from my server? " The scrip will take up as little resources as compared to that of opening up the home page on the website. For running the monitoring script 100 times in a minute, resource comsumption is as follows (on a common server with Intel Pentium 4 3.06GHz CPU and 1G memory):
- Memory: 8.5M - 9.5M;
- CPU: 2.0% - 3.0%;
- Bandwidth: the comprehensive bandwidth is 200 B/s for HTTP monitoring and 2 KB/s for HTTP Transaction;

Where can I see any demo of the YouMonitor.Us system and services?We provide the demo show to help you to use our monitoring service, you can view it by visit our homepage or enter into "How to Start" page. There are five demos: one is global, other four are detail function guides:

What is YMU Points? -
YMU Points is the max number of checking your website in an hour. If you contribute an YMU-Node (turn your website or web server into an YMU-Node), you can get 300 YMU Points. That means, you website can be checked as little as one time per hour or if you’re really concerned about the performance during high utilization periods, you can have your site checked up to 300 times per hour. This is to testify that our monitoring services are unobtrusive on your websites resources. The bottom line is you're in control!

What is a 30-day Trial Experience?YouMonitor.us gives you 30-day trial experience that you can access and utilize all services but need not to contribute an YMU-Node.After 30 days, to continue enjoying YMU monitor services you need to contribute YMU-Node to the peer to peer network.

What's involved in becoming a subscriber?To become a member, go to our home page and click "Register". Once registered, your 30-day trial experience will begin immediately. During that time you'll have full access to all system services and functions, just as if you already contributed an YMU-Node. When you login to YMU system first time, YMU wizard will guide you to customize monitor service for your website step by step. Or, you can customize monitor service by "Services" item of "My Control Center" menu.See demo show by click here.

What is HTTP Transaction?A Transaction can be thought as a serial sub monitor tasks (these tasks must be execute by orders) combine to a total monitor task: if the serial monitor tasks are use HTTP protocol, the transaction is a HTTP Transaction.
User can set a serial of http pages as a transaction: YMU service will monitor the serial of http pages by orders, then report a total response and downtime of the transaction.

Can I define different protocol types for monitoring on my website?Yes, you can test HTTP, HTTPS or HTTP Transaction monitoring tasks freely. For a HTTP Transaction task, the total step count can be up to 10.
For a monitoring task, the monitoring source (location count) count can be up to 10.

What is monitoring interval? Can I define the monitoring interval?Monitoring interval is how often your website will be checked. You can define the monitoring interval from one minute to an hour; but for a HTTP Transaction task, the lowest monitoring interval is 5 minutes.

What is monitoring source? Can I specify multi monitoring sources?Monitoring source means the number of locations your site is being checked. We currently have over a hundred monitoring sources around the world. The source can be from continents to countries to states, and you can select the source from which you want your website monitored. For a monitoring task, the max number of monitoring source is 10.For select monitoring source, we not only support key search in map, but also support direct locate in map.

Can I define multi monitoring services?Yes, you can define the he number of monitoring tasks you want to according to your YMU Points.
You'll get 300 YMU Points if contribute a YMU-Node; according to your YMU Points, you can free configure monitoring interval, the number of monitoring source and the number of monitoring tasks;

Can customer free suspend outbound monitoring (YMU-Node) or inbound monitoring (Monitor Service for your website) during downtimes on their websites for maintenance and system upgrades? Yes, Login to the YMU system, enter into "My Control Center" and click "Suspend" in "YMU-Node" or "Services pages" to temporarily stop outbound or inbound monitoring and "Resume" to start monitoring again. But, if you suspend a YMU-Node, you will lose related YMU Points for your website after 30-day trial experience.

What is the difference between standard package and advanced package?The only difference exists in the number of checks. All other features that are presented in advanced package are also offered in standard package.
Package Monthly fee Standard 60 checks/ hour 10 SMS per month $ 9.99 per month Advanced 300 checks/ hour 10 SMS per month $ 29.99 per month
How do you decide how many checks are spent?Checks used on each service are the multiplying result of monitoring source and how many times the monitored website is monitored. For example, if you choose 4 monitoring sources and the monitoring interval is 1 minute, then the checks used is 4×(60/30)= 8.

How do you determine a month?The first month is counted from the date your 30-day free trial finishes to the same date next month. Each following 30 days is defined as a month.

Can I choose to unsubscribe?You can choose to unsubscribe at any time. Whole refund or partial refund would be available. Please read more on Fees Policy.
